Chaktomuk Insight is an independent media and analysis platform created by young Cambodians for a global audience. It is a new branch of The SEED Cambodia, a youth-led initiative founded in 2020 that has focused on Khmer-language content for domestic audiences. Chaktomuk Insight was established to bring Cambodian perspectives beyond national borders and into regional and global conversations.
We are editorially independent and analytically neutral. Chaktomuk Insight does not represent any political party, government, or institution. Our work is guided by clarity, balance, and evidence—especially on issues related to Cambodia that are often oversimplified or misunderstood internationally.
We produce articles, videos, and explainers on Cambodia's politics, society, and development for international audiences, including policymakers, academics, researchers, students, and globally curious readers.
The platform was founded by Huy Panhachezda, who recognised the importance of how Cambodia is seen and understood internationally. During periods of Cambodia-Thailand tensions, international media coverage often appeared to favour Thailand. He observed that this was not only about narrative imbalance, but also about the absence of a strong Cambodian-based platform able to provide timely, clear, and credible analysis in a language and format accessible to international audiences. Chaktomuk Insight was created to help fill this gap. Since launching, Chaktomuk Insight has gained early momentum, reaching over 2,000 followers in its first week.
Looking ahead, we aim to collaborate with emerging analysts and media partners, expand across digital platforms and campuses, and continue serving as a bridge between Cambodia and the world.
During the second escalation of border tensions on 7th December 2025, the need for such a platform became more visible. In response, the Chaktomuk Insight website was formally established with donations from Cambodian individuals who believed in the importance of independent analysis and Cambodia's presence in global discussions. This community support reflects a shared understanding that Cambodia needs platforms capable of explaining its context, experiences, and perspectives to the world in a clear and credible way.

We aim to help shape how Cambodia is understood globally, presenting the country as a place of knowledge, culture, and opportunity. Through careful analysis and compelling storytelling, we seek to connect Cambodia with scholars, travelers, investors, and global audiences interested in deeper, more accurate perspectives.
We started Chaktomuk Insight with a simple belief: Cambodia should be explained by people who live, study, and work within its realities—not only by outsiders. Through English-language, research-driven content, we amplify youth voices while staying grounded in facts, context, and careful analysis.
Our mission is to amplify Cambodia's voice through thoughtful policy analysis, cultural narratives and creative media. We aim to inform, clarify, and engage by sharing stories and insights that reflect Cambodia's realities—its progress, its challenges, and its potential—while encouraging meaningful engagement from international audiences, including scholars, tourists, and investors.
